be brave

They raise their brows and tell you that you don't have what it takes, that you should reconsider your options and lower you standards. They chuckle, shaking their heads, and convince you to grow up and smell the coffee, convince you that you're not enough, that given your current circumstances, what you're aiming for is impossible.

People do that a lot. Some make it their life mission to bring you down, to drown whatever hope you have in you, to make sure that you'll only wish for what's achievable to them.

'I just want to protect you, to remind you what reality is really like', 'I don't want to see you upset and disappointed', 'Your goals must be on par with what you're capable of'......

Who are you to tell me that my dreams are mere pretentious aspirations? Who are you to tell me that they aren't real, that I'm too weak an individual to live them? Who are you to make the call on what makes sense and what doesn't?

If you want to fly, spread your wings, and make use of them. People may tell you that you can't defy the law of gravity, that it is safer for you on the ground, but don't budge. Spread your wings, make them strong, and watch those people gasp in awe when you're finally soaring above their heads.

We are bound by logic, reality, stereotypical judgement, narrow visions and cowardice. If you think that something may work, that you've found a passion worth fighting for, don't let anybody convince you otherwise. It's your decision, your path to walk, they're just spectators.

Self-assurance and faith. It's all that matters.
